MyView is a project born in 2017 by Carlos Gutiérrez. With this project were given disposable cameras to children in vulnerable conditions and asked them to take pictures of their day-to-day lives.
The project has more than 1.200 images from three different places: Mlangarini, a small town in Tanzania, Cañada Real, Madrid, the Europe’s Largest Shanty Town, and from the refugee community living in Polykastro, north of Greece.
I believe photography can be a tool to self recognition. During the process, this children were expressing themselves and building their identities.
All the pictures have been taken by the children.
